Awesome breakfast spot with cute dishes and quiet environment to talk. Service is always a 10 and food is great for the price.

We went to Bota yesterday and hit a horrible traffic jam across the bridge so we were late which was a bummer because we had tickets for a show so we only had 35 minutes for dinner. I asked the hostess whether this was realistic and she was wonderful! She asked at what time was the show and where (just across the street) and then she said "I've got you! I'll tell your server!" And she delivered. Our server, Keith, was super sweet and efficient. We ordered tapas only (no time for paellas) and these were great! We actually ended up having leftover time just to enjoy eating and we were super thankful! They turned around a night that started frustrating, and will for sure come back to enjoy a meal more calmly! Thanks!

Everything we had was delicious! Sangria was definitely in the top 5 I’ve ever had

The decor is attractive and there was a nice buzz on Friday around 7:00. The waiter was competent and friendly, but the hostess, while pleasant and efficient, could benefit from a little movement and posture training. My first course, a seasoned heirloom tomato, was served chilled. When I told the waiter that tomatoes, particularly heirloom tomatoes that are featured, should not be refrigerated, he took it off my bill. The second plate was roasted pork, that the runner from the kitchen more or less just tossed down on the table without clearing the first course, and then immediately ran away. The pork was good, but could have been taken out of the oven just a couple minutes earlier.

The tapas was better than the seafood paella. The ambiance was magnificent. I would suggest this place hands down

A really nice place.

The egg white breakfast omelet is served with gluten free toast and a big smile from whomever your server is:)

Quaint, Cozy, and elegant little place that serves small Spanish plates. The portions are small, however they can make up for it with the elegant presentation and quality of service. You have to order a ton of dishes in order to be full but it's quite worth it. My favorites are the octopus, Iberico, paella, and Spanish potatoes. Add this to your regular places to go to for date night.

Bacon wrapped mascarpone filled dates make this place worth the visit. Brussels sprouts were good. Grilled octopus was a bit chewy, but nicely seasoned. Padron peppers were yummy, but the serving size was way big for a "small" plate.

Delicious food and pretty ambiance!Service was awesome!

Enjoyed the experience of eating here. The patatas bravas and octopus were excellent, the Brussels sprouts were pretty good, and the vegetarian paella was well salted. Nice wine, atmosphere, and we had an excellent waitress.

Great little place for Tapas and wines...it was also a pleasant surprise for breakfast ! I would recommend having the prawns, lamb lollipops ..churros ..and French toast for breakfast...

This place had great food.

It's in the Warwick Hotel which makes it a very convenient location for those going to the Curran Theater. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday after having cocktails at a nearby lounge. We had the sangria to share and the large meat paella. For our tapas, we ordered the patatas bravas, jamon serrano, chicken strips, and the garlic prawns. The Paella was tasty but sadly lacking the Socarrat (the crunchy crust at the bottom of the pan). The tapas were just ok, nothing really stands out to me. Service was on the slow side but maybe because it's Saturday evening and they were busy.

Paella and tapas eatery outside Union Square. One of the better squid ink paella’s I’ve had in the city. The tapas are a good size and very tasty. The charcuterie board is a definite must. And you can’t forget the wine, Bota has an amazing and expansive wine list. Perfect for special occasions.

The drinks, cocktails and mocktails are good. But the food except the spicy potato wasn't really enticing.

Paella done right! Olives done right! Great to dine at a place the knows what it takes to extract bold, delicious flavors.

Food it's good, very good service and nice environment. Quick service as well, the restaurant it's couple block from Union Square which is very convenient. Parking although is hard to find on the street, be aware of that, it is better to use public transportation.

Exquisite. I was blown away by the flavor and absolutely fine service by the waiter. I highly recommend that you stop in and give this place a taste. I don't remember the names of the dishes I ordered. But you can see my photos of them.

Amazing food I was craving a good authentic paella and I walked out very satisfied, I went with little expectation and all around was just greatness, keep it up guys and thank you.

Excellent spanish tapas, great wine selection, the paella is a MUST! Desserts are all awesome as well. Can't go wrong with this place except if you're a vegan. Pork lovers rejoice! Selection here of the charcuterie is as good as it gets. Did not try the cheese though, next time.

Servers are bad. Wearing gym clothes not taking care of customers as often. Always try to find or see a waitress coming out of kitchen where they are talking and gossiping. Dishes are very expensive and not that impressive either.

First time trying this restaurant. The service was a bit off. Though our server was friendly, she did not have good knowledge of the sherries the restaurant had to offer. She was also too quick in clearing dishes as a couple times we were not yet done when she tried to take the plate away. The food was very good. The cheese and charcuterie plates had a nice selection, and the warmed olives had great flavor given the garlic and orange peels. We had the paella which was a good amount for 2 people. The rice had a nice flavor and crust, and the seafood was cooked well. We took it to the top with the dessert which was a nice finish to dinner. My husband was finally able to get his sherry as these selections were listed in the dessert menu. Though there were a couple mishaps, I'd give this place another try.

We ordered the two chicken dishes and the ibirico meatballs. The food was fine, but nothing great, especially for the prices.

Simply the best place to eat prior to a concert at the Fox Theater. Right across the street from the Fox, gourmet Spanish cuisine. We had 2 amazing starters and then split a meat Paella - my 1st non-seafood Paella, and it was absolutely fantastic!Young, hip atmosphere - we ate at the bar, which was great, because it was a pleasure watching the two bartenders in action. The young woman bartender was particularly impressive, and fun to talk with - she is a VERY skilled and experienced bartender! Very impressive bar, by the way, so Bota is perfect for either dinner or drinks. Reservations highly recommended (we weren't able to get a reservation, but they suggested we be there when they opened, and were able to be seated at the bar, which was perfect!

Seafood Paella was plain, no flavor, no good quality saffron, no salt. Not worth it! Padron peppers and secretos were good though.

I'd come here all the time, if I was local. Went last night for the small plates and wine, and again this morning for breakfast. Both meals were excellent - exceeded our expectations. The service both times did as well. Only regret was not trying the paella! Next time!

The paella for one was amazingly delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant to the eyes and ears.

My sister and I feasted on hot and cold tapas, enjoyed good wine and excellent service! A great meal on a PCH road trip to remember.

Had a cozy dinner with my Hungarian college classmate here for 5 well made tapas with interesting twists : The favorite dish we think is the shrimp + mushroom with spicy creamy sauces. It's always good to hit Valencia for a chilling Friday night.

I was lucky enough to have Monday lunch here and it was quiet because no Harry Potter across the road. The food was great and even if we remain in lockdown consider trying the menu in whatever form it takes.

The seafood paella was burnt on the bottom, so when we were actually recommended to scrape the bottom of the dish, i had to get rid of burnt rice. It was not bad though. But it could use more deeper flavor and fresher mussels. Their fresh oysters were okay too. Not the freshest i have tasted. Service was good and ambience was not too loud but loud enough that i won’t hear other table’s conversations. Restaurant is also children friendly. Not sure if they have high chairs though.

Wanted to like it but it really missed the mark. Went for Friday night date night and arrived a few minutes early. We were seated promptly. The staff was nice, but not very attentive after being seated. It took a while to place a drink order and even longer to place a food order. We chose the pear salad which only had two slices of pear in it, the garlic shrimp which tasted good but the bread served was old and stale and ice cold, and the octopus that was very good. Our server could not pour a glass of wine and spilled some each time she did refill from the bottle. Rabbit paella was acceptable, but the next morning I was in the bathroom promptly. Overall I cannot say it was a great dinner. Saving qualities were that the staff was nice, the food did come out quick, and the atmosphere was acceptable.

First time here. Like the decor and all the dishes we ordered. Our server was also top notch - gave up free sangria samples to try. The white sangria was delicious. Even better than the sangria was the "found in translation" vodka cocktail. 5 stars and delicious. As for food, we opted for six tapas as we wanted to try everything.- cold tomato soup - super yummy 5 stars- kale cucumber salad with blue cheese - 4 stars. Loved the pear and blue cheese flavors- paquillo peppers stuffed with salted cod fish - 4 stars. Great with bread- garlic prawns - 4 stars. Wow were there a lot of garlic and also oil. Really tasty but a little oily.- potatoes - decadent with spicy aioli - everyone is right crispy and yummy- oxtail with prawns - 5 stars. Love the soup it comes in. Was dipping my bread non stop. Meat was super tender and loved the prawns that came with. Way too much food for two people. Will enjoy our leftovers tomorrow. we will be back and with friends. ;-)

The service was great. I love Tapas and the menu was well written. However, the food itself lacked seasoning. When eating small dishes, I expect a serious punch. The cheese in the bacon wrapped dates lacked the required sharpness to cut through the sweetness of the dates. The balsamic reduction helped, but please funkify your cheese. The oxtail just needed salt, the reduction was good, the meat was tender, but the flavor just fell short without seasoning. The Gin and Tonic tasted amazing, and I always applaud the use of paper straws, but the whole peppercorns were the same size as the straw hole. I should have brought my yerba mate straw.

Good paela in San Francisco. Service is really good. Good atmosphere in the restaurant.

This place is awesome for small plates of delicious Mexican cuisine. I enjoyed the guacamole and chips. I also liked the mushroom empanadas. My favorite was the Diabla shrimp plate. The tuna taco was so good. This is a great spot for a bite or get some drinks.

Each item we ordered was excellent. We shared several small plates. Roasted brussel sprouts covered with cheese. Grilled octopus with potatoes and lemon foam. Mussels gently cooked in white wine. The staff was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Great meal and location, Across from the theaters.

It was a good night with just ok paella

Food was bland and unappetizing. Service was extremely slow despite several empty tables nearby. Will not return. Added one star because server noticed that the seafood paella was basically untouched and was kind enough to remove the paella from the bill without us asking.

Tapas were delicious. In my opinion, the best were the oysters. The wine suggested by the waiter was very good. Paellas were a little bit too dry and bland.

Something different, something delicious!

The first time I was here I ordered the salmon with wasabi noodles, which I enjoyed, so I decided to get the sea bass with wasabi noodles. I enjoyed it much more than the salmon. But I also like sea bass more anyways ;) and again, the noodles were just as good as I remembered. THE Bota Tapas & Paella Bar THOUGH!!! This dish haunts me. It's probably the best Bota Tapas & Paella Bar that I've had at a restaurant (not sushi). Would highly recommend. So so good.

Fresh complex flavors. The best seat in the house is at the bar overlooking the open kitchen. The chef's and supporting team display an exceptional deal of coordination. Try the Brussel Sprouts and Rabas De Pollo. The Grill Octopus seemed to be very popular along with the Seafood Paella.

Great meal, great stuff

A group of us went to Bota Tapas and had a great time. The food selection is quite nice and I certainly recommend trying as many dishes as you can. The tapas are pretty traditional and the wine selection is quite reasonable. Be sure to save a little room for dessert or an nice Tawny 20 year. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and non-intrusive. Though the place was a little noisy we were still able to hear ourselves across the tables. Certainly worth a try.
